Grass like annual forb 2-5cm tall. Stems absent. Leaves somewhat succulent, clustered at the base of the plant, with a sheath at the base. Leaves 1-5cm long, 1-2mm wide, flattened cylindrical, hairy when young, then hairless, with pointed tips. Flowers tiny (less than 3mm across), greenish to pale, with 0 petals. Flower heads elliptical or hemispherical, crowded among the leaves at the base of the plant.
Superficially resembles Myriocephalus pluriflorus and Myriocephalus rhizocephalus . Its flower heads are not composed of partial flower heads, while the flower heads of Myriocephalus pluriflorus and Myriocephalus rhizocephalus are compound, composed of partial flower heads.
