Introduced perennial grass to 1.5m tall or sprawling. Leaves with a rough sheath at the base. Ligule a membrane without a fringe of hairs. Leaves flat, 3-30cm long, 3-15mm wide, rough to spiny. Spikelets 4-8mm long. Mature seed groups spreading. Seeds with 0 bristles.
