Introduced annual or biennial forb to 2m tall. Leaves fragrant, alternating up the stems, compound, composed of 3 flat leaflets, each 0.7-3.5cm long, 2-15mm wide, hairless, edges toothed. Flowers pea-shaped, white, with 5 petals, 2 almost joined together. Flowers in cylindrical racemes, the stalks arising from the bases of the leaves.
