Annual forb to 20cm tall. Leaves alternating up the stems, stem-clasping, 1-5cm long, 2-6mm wide, flat, sparsely to densely hairy, with a minute striaght point. Flowers white to creamy yellow, with 0 petals. Flower heads cylindrical, borne singly at the ends of the stems.
