Annual forb to 1.2m tall. Leaves mostly basal, some scattered up the stems, usually slightly stem-clasping. Leaves to 23cm long, to 120mm wide, flat, sticky hairy. Flowers white, tubular, with 5 usually notched lobes, in 'panicles' at the tops of stalks arising from the base of the plant. Flowers that self-pollinate without opening occasionally present.
