Introduced annual or biennial forb to 1m tall. Leaves in a basal rosette and alternating up the stems, 3-20cm long, 3-15mm wide, flat, toothed, tips pointed. Basal leaves mostly hairless. Stem leaves hairy, somewhat stem clasping. Fragrant flowers. Flowers yellow fading through yellowish pink and orange to red, with 4 petals, solitary at the bases of the upper leaves.
