Annual forb to 35cm tall. Leaves in a basal rosette and alternating up the stems, to 9cm long, flat, hairy, edges toothed to entire. Flowers white or yellow, with 4 petals, in racemes at the tops of the stems which lengthen as the fruiting bodies mature.
Differs from Phlegmatospermum eremaeum in that the plant is upright.
