Perennial forb or shrub, prostrate to erect. Leaves alternating up the stems, 0.4-1.2cm long, 2-5mm wide, flat, glaucous, tips blunt. Male and female flowers on the same plant. Flowers small (less than 3mm across), in clusters of 1 female and 2 or 3 males at the bases of the leaves. Family Euphorbiaceae in SA. Rare Vic.

Differs from Phyllanthus lacunarius in that it is a perennial with a woody base, growing in sandy soils, and the fruiting bodies are 2-3mm in diameter.
