Biennial or perennial forb to 1.2m tall. Leaves basal and alternating up the stems. Basal leaves 6-45cm long, 10-40mm wide, flat, rough, hairy, edges wavy and toothed to almost entire. Stem leaves often with basal lobes, decreasing in size up the stems. Flowers with many small yellow 'petals'. Flower heads cylindrical to oval, in open groups at the ends of the stems. Rare SA. Rare Vic.
