Notes
Perennial grass, prostrate, or to 1.25m tall when aquatic. Leaves alternating along the stems, with a sheath at the base. Ligule a membrane with a fringe of hairs. Leaves 0.5-12cm long, 1-7mm wide, linear, threadlike, flat, or folded and with the margins rolled in, hairless or rough. Spikelets green or purplish, becoming straw-coloured, 3-8mm long. Seeds with 0 bristles. Mature seed groups spreading.
