Notes
Annual or perennial grass to 80cm tall. Leaves with a hairless sheath at the base. Ligule a membrane without a fringe of hairs. Leaves 3-22cm long, 0.5-4.3mm wide, threadlike, with edges rolled inwards or folded lengthwise, hairless, the uppermost leaf usually clasping the base of the flower head. Spikelets 2-12mm long. Mature seed groups narrow cylindrical, slightly spreading. Seeds with 0 bristles.
