Introduced tree to 14m tall. Leaves aromatic when crushed, alternating along the stem, 12-25cm long, composed of 3-35 leaflets, the leaflets 1.5-5cm long, 2-10mm wide, flat to linear, mostly hairless, with pointed tips. Male and female flowers on the same plant or on different plants. Flowers white or creamy, with 5 petals, in drooping open panicles arising from the bases of the leaves. Fruit red or bluish pink. Schinus areira in NSW.
