Shrub or perennial forb to 80cm tall. Leaves usually succulent, 1-2.5cm long, linear, flattened narrow cylindrical, hairy to hairless. Flowers tiny (less than 3mm across), white woolly, solitary at the bases of the leaves. Burrs white woolly, with 2 or rarely 3 spines.
