Shrub or perennial forb to 30cm tall. Leaves usually succulent, 0.5-1.5cm long, cylindrical to flattened cylindrical, hairy, becoming hairless with age. Flowers small (less than 3mm across), solitary at the bases of the leaves. Burrs sparsely hairy with 2 (rarely 3) longer spines, and 1-2 inconspicuous spines. Endangered Vic. Threatened list Vic.
