Introduced biennial forb to 60cm tall. Leaves basal and alternating up the stems, flat, 3-20cm long, to 80mm wide, hairy or hairless to glaucous, margins with linear lobes. Stem leaves, and occasionally basal leaves, linear and entire. Flower heads with many yellow 'petals', cylindrical below the 'petals', borne singly or in loose groups at the ends of the stems.
