Perennial or biennial forb to 30cm tall or sprawling. Reddish prickles on the branches, leaf stalks, leaves, and stalks and calyces of the flowers. Leaves 1-9cm long, 5-30mm wide, flat, hairless on the upper surface, hairy below, margins lobed. Flowers blue to purple, with a short tube and 4-5 spreading lobes, in clusters of 4-10 flowers on stalks arising from along the stems or from the tops of the stems. Berry yellow, semi-succulent. Vulnerable Vic.
