Notes

Perennial forb to 1m tall.  Leaves succulent, alternating up the stems, linear, flattened cylindrical to triangular in cross-section, or narrow and flat, 0.7-5cm long, 1-3.5mm wide, hairless.  Flowers tiny (less than 3mm across), in clusters at the bases of the leaves or in spikes or panicles.  Slightly succulent fruit, to 2mm diameter.

Differs from Suaeda baccifera in that the edges of the leaves do not have transparent margins.
