Introduced annual forb to 60cm tall or prostrate. Leaves alternating along the stems, compound, with 3 leaflets, each leaflet 0.6-4cm long, 3-21mm wide, flat, hairless or becoming hairless, edges toothed, tips blunt. Flowers pea-shaped, pink to purple, with 5 petals, 2 almost joined together. Flower groups spherical, the stalks arising from the bases of the leaves.
