Annual grass-like forbs 1-20cm tall. Leaves clustered at the base of the plant, with a sheath at the base, 0.4-16cm long, 0.2-1.1mm diameter, usually threadlike. Flowers small (less than 3mm across), in a raceme or spike at the top of the flowering stem. Triglochin calcitrapa (leaves 1-5cm long, 1-12 flowers in the inflorescence), Triglochin centrocarpa (leaves 0.4-8cm long, 1-11 flowers in the inflorescence), Triglochin isingiana (leaves 1-16cm long, 1-23 flowers in the inflorescence), Triglochin nana (leaves 1-11cm long, 2-59 flowers in the inflorescence) and Triglochin sp. A (leaves 1-8cm long, 3-27 flowers in the inflorescence) have been recorded from the area covered by this key.
Triglochin calcitrapa occurs on Nanya Station and Mungo National Park.
An unidentified species occurs on Scotia Sanctuary, NSW

Flora of Australia (2011) states that Triglochin centrocarpa only occurs in WA, and that Triglochin nana has been included in Triglochin centrocarpa in most State Floras.
