Print Fact SheetTenothrips salviae

Distinguishing features

This species has not been studied by the present authors. According to Nakahara (1995: 236) it is distinguished from the other five species he placed in Ewartithrips by the bicoloured antennal segment VI and the presence of sculpture lines medially on the tergites.

Related species

This species was described in Ewartithrips, a genus proposed for six species from California. However, separation of this Californian genus from the Mediterranean genus Tenothrips is doubtful (Bhatti, 2003).
