Nomenclature

    Aleurodicus flavus  Hempel, 1922: 4-5

Biology [Hempel, 1922 The pupal case is yellow and totally covered by floccullent wax radiating in all directions.  Occurs on the uderside of the leaf.

Distribution: Brazil [Hempel, 1922: 5][S.E.L.].

Host: Arecaceae: Cocos nucifera [Hempel, 1922: 5];   Begoniaceae: Begonia [Costa Lima , A. Da  1928:  132];  Tiliaceae:  Triumfelta semitriloba  [Costa Lima,  1968:  106].

Taxonomy [Hempel, 1922: 5]:  Margin not dentate. Pupal case has 6 pairs of compound pores with the pore diameter subequal to each other except for the caudal pair reduced (originally described by Hempel with 5 pairs including the cephalic compound pores).  Complete submarginal row of double-rimmed pores present;  wide-rimmed pore band present and extends mesad of double-rimmed pore band.

Natural Enemies:  NATURAL ENEMIES: Nephaspis  sp. (Coleoptera, Coccinellidae) [Costa Lima, 1968: 106]; Euderomphale sp.  Dozier (Hymenoptera, Eulophidae) .
