Aleurodicus pauciporus   sp. nov [Martin, 2004: Zootaxa: 26]

Biology [Martin, 2004: Zootaxa: 26]: Dorsal disk yellowish with sparse waxy covering with a slender waxy filament arising from each of the larger compound pores.  Cuticle pale or with a brownish submargin.  Feed along the major veins underneath the leaves.

Distribution [Martin, 2004: Zootaxa: 27-28]: Neotropical: Belize, Costa Rica.

Host [Martin, 2004: Zootaxa: 27-28]:  Aquilifoliaceae: Ilex belizensis;  Flacourtiaceae:   Casearia tremula; indet plant .

Taxonomy [Martin, 2004: Zootaxa: 27] Seven compound pores present;  the large five pairs  of compound pores 28-40 μm in diameter with a truncate central process that does not extend beyond the pore orifice;  posterior two pairs of compound pores reduced, 10-14 μm wide in diameter (the pair on abdominal segment VII resemble unshelled peanuts and VIII mushroom shaped).

Sparsely distributed minute dorsal simple pores present with a few bright pores clustered near the compound pores; septate pores sparsely distributed on dorsal disc one or two on each side of the submedian part of abdominal segments II thru VI and similarly scarce on the subdorsum;  wide band of submarginal wide-rimmed pores absent.

Vasiform orifice transversely oval covered by a transversely, rounded-rectangular operculum;  lingula large exserted half way from orifice to caudal margin.

12 pairs of submarginal setae;  submedian single pair of setae present on cephalothorax, mesothorax, metathorax similar to submarginal setae.   Anterior marginal setae absent;  posterior marginal setae present similar to caudal setae.
