Nomenclature

Aleurodicus trinidadensis  Quaintance & Baker, 1913: 69.

Distribution: Neotropical:  Colombia [S.E.L.],  Grenada [S.E.L.],  Trinidad & Tobago  [Quaintance & Baker, 1913: 69][S.E.L.].

Host: Arecaceae: Cocos nucifera  [Quaintance  & Baker, 1913:  69]; Asteraceae:  Eupatorium odoratum [NHM, London];  Musaceae: Musa sapientum  [NHM, London].

Taxonomy: Margin not dentate.  Pupal case with 7 pairs of compound pores with caudal two pairs sub cylindrical and about 1/2 the diameter of the anterior four abdominal pairs with central processes subequal in size & shape to others.  Dorsal septate pores present; submarginal double rimmed pores present; septate pores oval and smaller than double rimmed pores (that are in a regularly spaced row); margin with 1 row of simple discoidal pores.  

Natural Enemies: Unknown.

Related genera:  Similar to Aleurodicus fucatus Bondar,  Aleurodicus maritimus Hempel &  Aleurodicus capiangae Bondar.  Differs from maritimus  by having oval, not 8-shaped septate pores; and differs from the other two with 1 not 2, marginal rows of simple discoidal pores & the caudal 2 compound pores subcylindrical, not cup-shaped.
