Genus Tegmaleurodes  gen.  nov.

 Nomenclature  [Martin 2005:  47-48]:

Tegmaleurodes gen. nov.

Biology: Puparia normally pale and appears without any obvious waxy secretions (however, a thick "carapace of wax becomes obvious during the mounting process);  some species with dusty pigmentation especially in the submedian areas. 

Distribution: Neotropical.

Taxonomy Cuticle pale (but heavy concentration of wax exists).  Margin always modified into a deep invaginated thoracic & caudal tracheal cleft.  Cephalic-,A1 &, A8 and caudal setae present.  Vasiform orifice cordate, not elevated posteriorly, and mostly occupied by the operculum through which the lingula is observed and often partly exposed.  Dorsal geminate pores/porettes sparsely distributed dorsally.
