Nomenclature :
Acaudaleyrodes Takahashi 1951a: 382
Biology: Cuticle usually brown to black in color.
Distribution: Predominately Palaearctic with one species from Oriantal (China) and few from Afrotropical regions.
Taxonomy: This genus is recognizeable because of the following combination of character:
· Vasiform orifice Scutellate (shield-like in shape).
· The lingula very short and does not occupy most of the orifice.
· operculum small, short, and rectangular.
Note that it also has dorsal pair of suture-like folds as in Aleurotrachelus.
Similar Genera: According to Takahashi, this genus is related to Aleurotrachelus Quaintance & Baker.
