Biology  [Russell 1947: 4-33]Subcircular to elliptical;  dark brown to black puparia and heavily sclerotized or membraneous & colorless.  Puparia occur abundantly on upper & lower sides of the leaves.

Distribution  [Russell 1947: 4-33]Western Hemisphere, limited to the Neotropical and Nearctic geographical regions.

Taxonomy  [Russell 1947: 4-33]:  Margin. Dentate with a submarginal row flat and the dorsum with ridges,  pores and porettes;  papillae flat and reniform (kidney-shaped). May also have dorsal reniform papillae in addition to submarginal row.  Chaetotaxy. Submarginal setae present: seven cephalothoracic pairs and eight abdominal pairs. Venter. Tracheal folds well-developed
