Biology [Russell 1967: 235]Mature puparia with the ventral surface not swollen;  dorsally with a waxy secretion, but not encircled by a band of wax ventrally.

Distribution [Russell 1967: 235]:  Neotropical: Venezuela 

Taxonomy [Russell 1967: 235] Margin. Smooth or crenulate;  subdorsal suture absent, dorsal disk not separated from the submargin; Tracheal pores absent. Dorsum. Submarginal papillae present or absent. Vasiform orifice and operculum chordate or subchordatelingula elongated & lobed; caudal furrow present. Chaetotaxy. Anterior and posterior marginal setae present; submedian cephalic, A1, A8, and caudal setal pairs present; submarginal setae or setal bases indistict to numbering no more than 6 (if visible); cylindrical setae present & rounded apically.  Pores. Dorsal disk with short cylindical tubular pores (dark rims), but without associated porettes;  disc pores and porettes present.

Similar genera [Russell 1967: 235]Note that interceptions have been made of pests closely resembling this genus from Argentina as well. Currently, only one species has been described. Belongs to the tribe Trialeurodini by possessing submarginal papillae.   

Although Venezaleurodes is most closely related to Trialeurodes, the latter  has puparia with the ventral surface swollen and  lacks cylindrical  setae and cylindical tubular pores (see table below).
