Properties:

• Vitreous lustre
• Yellowish to brownish green color
• White to grey streak
• Knife does not scratch (Mohs Hardness 7)
• Above average density
• One good cleavage
• Uneven fracture
• Not ferromagnetic
• Does not react with hydrochloric acid (HCl)

Occurrence:

Epidote and clinozoisite occur in medium grade metamorphic rocks and as alteration products of plagioclase feldspar in igneous rocks .
