Distribution and Habitat

Ajana to Nerren Nerren Station, growing in sandy and sandy-clay soils in seasonally wet depressions.

Description

A geographically restricted species with a scarcely hairy leaf 30–50 mm long by 5–7 mm wide and one (rarely two) creamy-white, greenish-yellow and red flowers 18–20 mm across.

Distinguishing Features

It is distinguished from the related Common Dragon Orchid (Caladenia barbarossa) and Narrow-lipped Dragon Orchid (C. mesocera) by its smaller flowers and more northerly distribution. It is the only member of the complex to grow north of Geraldton.
