Distribution and Habitat
Zuytdorp Cliffs to Israelite Bay, growing in sandy soils in coastal woodlands and shrublands.

Description
A freely opening subspecies 100–350 mm high with a hairy leaf 100–200 mm long by 2–5 mm wide and up to two creamy-white or greenish-cream flowers 30–40 mm across.
Distinguishing Features
It is distinguished from the subsp. cleistogama by its larger, freely opening flowers.
