Distribution and Habitat

Jeramungup to Israelite Bay, growing in sandy-clay soils in woodlands and shrublands.

Description

A common, small flowered species 150–300 mm high with a hairy leaf 60–120 mm long by 4–6 mm wide and one (rarely two) greenish-white and red flowers 15–25 mm across.

Distinguishing Features

It is sometimes confused with Purple-veined Spider Orchid (Caladenia doutchiae) but has smaller flowers with shorter tips to the sepals and a generally narrower labellum with a broader band of calli. It also has a more easterly range of distribution.
