Distribution and Habitat

Morawa to Bremer Bay, growing in sandy-clay and granitic soils in woodlands and shrublands.

Description

A common inland species 150–300 mm high with a hairy leaf 70–150 mm long by 2–3 mm wide and up to two cream, yellow or pinkish-red flowers 50–90 mm across.

Distinguishing Features

It is distinguished from the related Ironcaps Spider Orchid (Caladenia paradoxa) by its shorter, more stiffly held spreading sepals and petals and somewhat broader labellum.
