Distribution and Habitat

Kojonup to Frankland with a disjunct populations at Quindanning and West Dale, growing in sandy-clay and lateritic soils in open woodlands.

Description

A rare species 100–250 mm high with a hairy leaf 60–100 mm long by 3–7 mm wide and up to three white to yellowish-white flowers 25–30 mm across. The labellum may be entire or have serrate fringe segments.

Distinguishing Features

It is distinguished from all other members of the Caladenia filamentosa complex by its prominently downcurved petals and sepals, the latter crossing in front of the ovary, and its labellum with widely spaced fringe segments and prominent irregular spots and blotches.
