Distribution and Habitat

Coorow to Bonnie Rock, growing in sandy and sandy-clay soil on rises above saline lakes and flats. The species has also on rare occasions been found in small populations on granite outcrops.

Description

A rare species 80–300 mm high with a scarcely hairy leaf 30–50 mm long by 4–10 mm wide and one (rarely two) creamy-white, greenish-yellow and red flowers 18–20 mm across.

Distinguishing Features

It is distinguished from all other members of the Caladenia barbarossa complex by its hanging petals and lateral sepals and loosely hinged labellum.
