Distribution and Habitat

Two Peoples Bay to Peaceful Bay, growing in deep sandy soils in coastal shrublands. The species has been found on just two occasions, both times in the season following summer fire.

Description

An elusive species 150–200 mm high with a hairy leaf 100–150 mm long by 4–5 mm wide and up to two cream to greenish-cream flowers 35–40 mm across.

Distinguishing Features

It is distinguished from the related Coastal Spider Orchid (Caladenia abbreviata) by its shorter petals and sepals and projecting labellum apex. Otherwise it is very similar and may be an aberrant form of that species.
