Distribution and Habitat

Dunsborough to Witchcliffe, growing in sandy soils in forests and woodlands.

Description

A large flowered species 450–900 mm high with a hairy leaf 200–350 mm long by 6–12 mm wide and up to three creamy-white to greenish-cream flowers 70–150 mm across. The labellum has a prominent red tip.

Distinguishing Features

It is distinguished from other members of the Caladenia longicauda complex by its very large flowers, its dorsal sepal which often bends back and becomes lax and its red tipped labellum.
