Distribution and Habitat
Geraldton to Israelite Bay, growing in sandy, sandy-clay, lateritic and granitic soils in forests, woodlands and shrublands. In inland areas the subspecies is often found in isolated populations on granite outcrops and rocky hills.

Description
A common subspecies 80–200 mm high with a hairy leaf, 60–120 mm long by 10–15 mm wide, which is tinged reddish-purple on the underside and up to three (rarely four) yellow, creamy-yellow or white, often red-marked flowers 20–40 mm across.
