Distribution and Habitat

Dwellingup to Manypeaks (town), growing in sandy, sandy-clay and lateritic soils in forests and woodlands.

Description

A late-flowering subspecies 100–300 mm high with a hairy leaf, 50–150 mm long by 12–15 mm wide, which is tinged reddish-purple on the underside and up to three pale yellow and creamy-white, red-marked flowers 20–25 mm across.

Distinguishing Features

It is distinguished from the other subspecies by its taller stature, generally smaller, paler coloured flowers, later flowering period (when compared to most populations of other subspecies) and confinement to the high rainfall lower southwest corner of the State.
