Distribution and Habitat

South-east of Boddington to York, growing in sandy-clay soils in seasonally wet flats and along the edges of drainage lines.

Description

A recently named species 120–250 mm high with a hairy leaf 70–130 mm long by 3–5 mm wide and up to two cream to creamy-yellow, red-marked flowers 60–100 mm across.

Distinguishing Features

It is distinguished from the related Joseph’s Spider Orchid (Caladenia polychroma) by its less colourful, cream to creamy yellow flowers, narrower labellum and more northerly distribution.
