Distribution and Habitat

Tenterden to Clackline, growing in sandy-clay soil on and around granite outcrops and more rarely in associated woodlands.

Description

A distinctive Wheatbelt species 200–500 mm high with a hairy leaf 150–250 mm long by 8–12 mm wide and up to two green, yellow and red flowers 60–80 mm across.

Distinguishing Features

It is distinguished from the related Pointing Spider Orchid (Caladenia exstans) by its larger flowers, larger labellum with calli stopping before the dark purple apex and more westerly distribution.
