Distribution and Habitat

South of Denham to israelite Bay, growing in sandy and sandy-clay soils in forests, woodlands and shrublands. In inland areas the species is found on low rises beside salt lakes and occasionally also on granite outcrops. The species is also found in South Australia, Victoria and Tasmania.

Description

A common species 120–450 mm high with a hairy leaf, 50–180 mm long by 12–15 mm wide, which is usually green on the underside, and up to four pink or white flowers 20–40 mm across.

Distinguishing Features

It is distinguished from the related Little Pink Fairy (Caladenia reptans) by its taller flower scapes, larger, usually more numerous flowers and green backed, rather than maroon backed leaf.
