Distribution and Habitat

Wharton, growing in shallow soil pockets on coastal granite outcrops.

Description

A geographically restricted subspecies 200–400 mm high with a hairy leaf 60–200 mm long by 5–12 mm wide and up to four relatively small, creamy-white to yellowish-white flowers 60–80 mm across.

Distinguishing Features

It is distinguished from the subsp. rigidulus with which it was previously included, by its smaller self-pollinating flowers and confinement to coastal granite outcrops east of Esperance.
