Distribution and Habitat

Augusta to Albany, growing in sandy soils in near coastal woodlands and shrublands.

Description

An early flowering coastal species 150–300 mm high with a hairy leaf 100–150 mm long by 5–10 mm wide and up to two white to creamy-white flowers 60–100 mm across.

Distinguishing Features

It is distinguished from the similar Common Spider Orchid (Caladenia varians) and Pendant Spider Orchid (C. pendens) by its earlier flowering period and confinement to south coastal sand dunes.
