Distribution and Habitat

Armadale to Bremer Bay, growing in sandy-clay and clay soils in seasonally wet areas, flowering best in the season following summer fire.

Description

A swamp-loving species 150–400 mm high with a hairy leaf 80–180 mm long by 8–12 mm wide and up to three (rarely to five) pale to deep pink or, more rarely, white flowers 15–30 mm across.

Distinguishing Features

It is distinguished from the typical subspecies by its taller flower scape, larger flowers and generally later flowering period. It also prefers swampy habitat versus the upland habitat favoured by the typical subspecies.
