Distribution and Habitat

Pingelly to west of York, growing in sandy and sandy-clay soils in forests and woodlands.

Description

A rare species 120–250 mm high with a hairy leaf 70–130 mm long by 3–5 mm wide and up to two creamy-white to creamy-yellow flowers 50–80 mm across.

Distinguishing Features

It is similar in appearance to Brookton Highway Spider Orchid (Caladenia fluvialis) but is generally smaller flowered and has less stiffly held petals and sepals. It also prefers dryer soils in more upland habitat.
