Distribution and Habitat

Collie to Lake Muir, growing in sandy-clay and lateritic soils in forests and woodlands, flowering best in the season following summer fire.

Description

A little-known species 100–250 mm high with a hairy leaf 60–120 mm long by 3–4 mm wide and up to three pale-yellow to creamy-white flowers 50–80 mm across.

Distinguishing Features

It is distinguished from the similar Ironcaps Spider Orchid (Caladenia paradoxa) by its pale yellow to creamy yellow flowers, dull red striped petals and sepals and westerly distribution in high rainfall south-west forests.
