Distribution and Habitat

South-east of Manjimup, growing in seasonally wet sandy-clay and clay soils in forests and woodlands. Despite extensive searches the species is known from just two locations a few hundred metres apart.

Description

A rare species 300–600 mm high with a hairy leaf 100–250 mm long by 6–10 mm wide and up to two deep pink flowers 60–100 mm across.

Distinguishing Features

It is distinguished from the related Pink Spider Orchid (Caladenia harringtoniae) by its larger, deeper pink flowers and wholly pale to dark pink labellum.
