Description

Cyanicula species have a hairy leaf, a hairy flowering stem and up to three (rarely four) flowers. There are two basic flower shapes, those with a narrow, prominently trilobed labellum and those with a broad, flattened labellum that lacks lateral lobes. Cyanicula species are similar to the Sun Orchids (Thelymitra) in that many have temperature sensitive flowers that open during warm weather but remain partially closed in cool, cloudy weather.
