Distribution and Habitat

Katanning to Israelite Bay, growing in sandy, sandy-clay and lateritic soils in woodlands and shrublands.

Description

A common south-eastern species 50–150 mm high with a scarcely hairy leaf, 30–100 mm long by 3–4 mm wide , which is usually green on the underside and up to two bluish-mauve (rarely white) flowers 20–25 mm across.

Distinguishing Features

It is distinguished from the related Dainty Blue Orchid (Cyanicula amplexans) by its narrower leaf, more widely spaced labellum lateral lobes and south-easterly distribution.
