Distribution and Habitat

Jurien Bay to Bremer Bay with a disjunct population at Mt Arid, growing in sandy, sandy-clay and lateritic soils in forests and woodlands, flowering best in the season following summer fire.

Description

A common high rainfall species 150–400 mm high with a broad, silky-hairy leaf, 50–120 mm long by 10–20 mm wide, which is green or slightly tinged reddish-purple on the underside and up to three (rarely four) mauve-blue or, more rarely, white flowers 30–40 mm across.

Distinguishing Features

It is distinguished from the other members of the Cyanicula sericea complex by its larger, broader leaf, taller stature, larger flowers and south-westerly distribution.
